  A Christmas Story from Dream Sanctuary 

a snow wish!

It’s the season to be jolly! Christmas is coming! Hi everyone I’m Fumiko Sakamichi but you can just call me Fumi! I’m currently in my second year of highschool and guess what? For this cold holiday our class has been decided to go for a school trip to a ski resort! Yes, that’s right! We’re going there for three days and two nights! Yippee! I can’t wait for it!♥

“Class, don’t forget to prepare everything for the trip and make sure to arrive on time this Saturday or else the bus will leave you aside! Happy Holidays!” Our female homeroom once again reminded all of us.

Today is the final day of our lessons for this semester and amazingly instead of students hurrying back home to enjoy their holidays most of them stayed back to talk about the trip. I too happened to stay back talking about plans with my male classmates Shuusui and Atsuro. In case you’re still not sure who is who, I guess I’ll just have to do a little introduction. ^^ The one with the black messy hair is Shuusui. We’ve become friends ever since we first entered highschool. You can say that I immediately felt in love at first sight when I first saw him so I mostly spend most of my time sticking to him. I thought it might annoyed him if I’m always sticking next to him but thank god he never thought of me that way and that’s how we still keep our friendship till today! I’m so glad about it! ^^v  The boy with a slight long brown hair is obviously Atsuro. Both Atsuro and Shuusui have been best friends ever since their childhood. I was pretty amazed that they have been friends for such a long time! Their relationships are so close that sometimes I’m so envious of Atsuro! Ah… if only I can meet Shuusui earlier then our relations would have been close just like theirs!

“Hey Fumi, are you listening?” asked Shuusui as he took notice of me not paying attention.

“Hehe. Gomen! Gomen!” I apologized with my tongue stick out.

“We’ll be having a small party in our room during the first night,” said Atsuro. “Make sure to bring lots of snacks with you!”

“You can invite Tohru too if you want to,” smiled Shuusui.

“Sure. I’ll ask her,” I said while flashing my right thumb up.

“Uh…right. I think that’s all. See ya all this Saturday!” said Atsuro.

“Bye!” I waved as both Atsuro and Shuusui went back home. When I’m packing my stuffs back into my bag, someone purposely bump onto me. It was Tohru.

“Hehehe. Having fun talking to Shuusui?” Tohru teased me.

I immediately blushed when Tohru teased me. “Don’t say it this way, Tohru!”

“So, what are our plans?” Tohru asked.

“We’ll be skiing with them of course” I smiled brightly.

“Alright! Sorry Fumi but I have to go home now. I’ll give you a call tonight. Bye!” waved Tohru as she dashed off the classroom.

After Tohru has left, I too went back home to prepare for the trip. Arghh! I never knew that waiting for two days to get over is actually that long!

      The day has finally come! Yay! Everyone has been gathered at the school bus and it took a few hours to get to the mountain ski resort. It was beautiful, I tell you! The whole mountain was covered with white snow and lots of tourists have already started enjoying themselves on the ski resort! Before we were left on our own to enjoy ourselves on the ski resort we were guided by one of the inn’s staff to tour around the inn. The inn is truly amazing! It’s filled with crowds everywhere and lots of Christmas decorations were decorated around the place. The staff showed us our rooms and also gave us some safety precautions and warnings when we’re on the mountain. However, the thing which really amazed most of us is the giant Christmas tree at the back of the inn.

“Kids, do you know that there’s a legend rumor regarding this tree?” said the staff. “It is said that if you confess your love to your favourite person they will be blessed with true happiness forever! Not much of our tourist knows about this legend so boys you don’t have to mind being seen by an adult if you’re going to confess to your favourite girl!” The staff winks at boys happily.

Wow. If I can get to confess my love to Shuusui here we’ll be together forever! Maybe I’ll try asking Shuusui out for the past few days. Fumi, gambatte!

Not long later, all students had been led to their rooms to unpack their stuffs. Fortunately I get to share the room with Tohru! Lucky~! ^^v  As I’m halfway done unpacking my stuffs, someone knocked on the door. I went and opened the door and found both Shuusui and Atsuro with their skiing equipments on.

“You girls not done yet?” asked Shuusui. “Girls are always so slow.”

“Hehe. What’s wrong with being slow? Just give us some minutes, k?” I stick my tongue out as I close the door and went back into the room.

“Geez, girls will be girls,” Atsuro complained.

“We’re ready!” both Tohru and I said, as we opened the door not more than 3 minutes later.

“Now that’s ridiculously fast!” said Atsuro shockingly. Both Tohru and I were giggling at how Atsuro reacted.

“Ah! I tripped again!” I said, as I just made my fifth fall on the snow.

“Fumi, you can’t ski very well, don’t you? Haha,” said Atsuro when he saw me hopelessly falling down. “Shuusui! Why don’t you teach her while Tohru and I have fun somewhere else?”

“Sure,” answered Shuusui.

“Let’s go over there, Tohru!” suggested Atsuro and both of them made their way to somewhere else leaving both Shuusui and me all alone. Wait… Shuusui and me all alone!? Oh my god! My heart’s pounding fast!

“Now… let’s teach you how to skate properly,” Shuusui smiled at me warmly.

Shuusui patiently taught me the proper way to ski. I was glad that I managed to ski a little distance but then again when I’m about to made my sixth fall Shuusui quickly grabbed my hand.

“Careful now!” said Shuusui.

“Thanks,” I thanked him heartily. But little do we know we’re still holding each other’s hand! My god! I feel blood rushing to my head! I’m going to faint from all these!

However Shuusui took noticed of it and let go but strangely his expression did not change or anything. I wonder if Shuusui likes me or not. Hmm...

That night we were having a blast in Shuusui’s room! Shuusui, Atsuro, Tohru, me and a few of our classmates were having a small party. We were having such a great time until I’ve noticed something. I saw Atsuro accidentally touched Shuusui’s hand and when they did they immediately withdraw their hands but wait! Why is Shuusui blusing? Don’t tell me Shuusui likes Atsuro! It’s impossible but Shuusui and Atsuro are always together and just now both of them were blushing when they’re touching each other’s hand! Could it really be? I know gays are on the rise these years but I didn’t expect Shuusui to be one! Oh my god! There’s no mistake about it! Definitely!

Soon everyone dismissed themselves back to their room as the night was getting more late. Both Tohru and I went back to our room and went to sleep in the loft bed. Tohru happened to take the top while I took the bottom. Our room lights were switched off however I can’t sleep. I can’t help thinking about Shuusui likes Atsuro! @_@

As the thoughts get deeper, Tohru suddenly talked to me, “hey Fumi. Are you asleep yet?”

“No. Not yet,” I replied.

“I got something to ask you. What do you think about Atsuro?” asked Tohru.

“Atsuro? He’s a nice guy but he likes to tease me sometimes,” I answered. Please stop talking about Atsuro and Shuusui, Tohru! I can’t stop thinking about them falling in love with each other! “What’s wrong?”

“Nothing, really. Goodnight!” as Tohru just dozed off.

“Goodnight,” I said. Sigh…I still can’t believe what I’ve saw today but still when Shuusui hold my hands he didn’t even blush at all. Right now only both of them are in the room all alone. In the room all alone? Don’t tell me they’re going to do something to each other? Both of them might be half naked and starts touching each other’s naked body saying ‘I love you’. Or Atsuro might say that he’s cold during the night and Shuusui offers Atsuro to sleep together by hugging each other? Arghhh! What the heck am I thinking? I think I better stop thinking or else my mind will go nuts! Goodnight, Fumi! Sleep! Sleep! Stop thinking about it! You’re asleep! Yes, you’re asleep! Not wide awake you idiot! Baka! Baka! Baka!

Last night I didn’t have a proper sleep. Dark circles appeared underneath my eyes as I walked to the café.

“Good morning,” I greeted everyone in a restless way.

“What happen, Fumi? Can’t sleep well last night?” asked Shuusui. I couldn’t sleep well because of you, Shuusui!

“Hey, hate to tell ya but later both Shuusui and I were thinking of skating with the other guys,” said Atsuro.

“Yea, since it’s the last day that we get to spend in the resort so we’re thinking of hanging out with the guys,” smiled Shuusui.

“Okay, have fun,” I waved at them like a zombie.

I seated myself next to Tohru to have breakfast and then Tohru asked me something.

“Didn’t you have a good sleep last night?” worried Tohru.

“Hehe. I guess I’m too excited to be here, hehe.” I stick my tongue out. I don’t know why but I still can’t get it out of my head. X_X

~make a wish~

“Fumi! Fumi! Over here!” yelled Tohru happily as she skied away.

“Ahh… wait for me, Tohru!” I said, trying to catch up with Tohru. I wonder what Shuusui and Atsuro are doing right now. Could it be that Shuusui tripped over and when Atsuro tried to lift him up he kissed him instead? GAH! *keeps on slapping face* However, isn’t it ironic that they’re both guys and can’t do anything about it. I must do something about it.

“Shuusui, is it alright if you meet me at the giant Christmas tree later around eight?” I asked Shuusui as we were dining in the restaurant during the night. Shuusui was first in the restaurant and the rest were still no here yet so it is much easier to ask Shuusui out.

“Sure,” he answered with a smile.

I waited nervously next to giant Christmas tree decorated with glittering ornaments for Shuusui to come.

Shuusui was running towards me with his hand wave at me as he yelled, “sorry for keeping you waiting!” Shuusui panted as he stopped running and asked, “what do you want to talk to me about?”

Before I could answer him, Atsuro was approaching us with both his hands in his pocket and said, “you’re looking for me, Fumi?”

“You’re just in great timing,” I said. I pushed Shuusui towards Atsuro and whispered to him, “I know you got something to tell Atsuro. Go on ahead and tell him about your feelings.” After that, I run away from them so they won’t be able to see my cyring face.

I know Shuusui likes Atsuro very much that’s why I’m doing a favor for him but I don’t know why I can’t seem to feel depressed. Maybe I’ve been dumped by him?

“Eh? What is she talking about,” Shuusui asked Atsuro.

“Maybe she thinks that you like me?” Atsuro answered.

“No way! What makes her think that way?” Shuusui scratches his head.

“What are you still doing here? Go after her!” Atsuro told Shuusui.

Without hesitation, Shuusui run towards the direction which I had just fled to. Sooner or later, he spotted me hiding at the corner of the inn.

“Why are you crying, Fumi?” he asked.

Being spotted, I quickly rubbed off the tears from my eyes and answered him back, “I’m not crying.” However the redness of my eyes couldn’t lie to him. “Why are you here? How could you dump Atsuro aside?”

“I did not like Atsuro! And besides Atsuro likes Tohru, not me!” he said.

“Atsuro likes Tohru?” I asked.

“Ah… I accidentally spilled the beans,” he laughed. “Anyways what makes you think that I like Atsuro?”

“When I saw both you and Atsuro accidentally touches each other’s hands you were blushing. However when I touch yours you didn’t react much,” I explained.

“Ah…when you accidentally touch my hand I didn’t blush because my heart pound too fast and I don’t want to let you notice. And about Atsuro and me I was blushing is because I feel ashamed to let you see my hand touching his when I just released your hand a while ago. I couldn’t believe you misunderstood us. Hahaha,” Shuusui gave a bitter laugh.

A misunderstanding? God, I must be a total idiot! Wait… does that mean that he likes me…?

“Hahaha, you’re really an idiot, you know,” Shuusui knelt in front of me and patted my head to comfort me. “But that’s why I liked you.” He smiled at me.

“Shuusui.”

Then he hugged me tightly as the sound of the tourists from the inn yelled loudly, “5…4…3…2…1…Merry Christmas!”

Though the time spent in this ski resort is short but we all have lots of fun here. A lot of stuffs have happened for the past two days. Both Shuusui and I were already seated ourselves on the bus and was worried how we’re going to tell both Atsuro and Tohru that we’re going out. When Atsuro and Tohru entered the bus we saw them holding hands with each other!

“Hehe, looks like I’d succeeded!” Atsuro gave a small wink while Tohru’s face went red. I couldn’t believe Atsuro succeeded too! Anyways I wish everyone

Merry Christmas, everyone! It has rather been a long time since I last wrote a love story. The main reason is because I wasn’t in love with someone else right now so you can say that I’m kind of in a slump to write those. Hahaha. Since Christmas is coming so I thought why not write a love story for it? So in order to write a good love story I went back to my hometown and looked at some of the places which reminded me how I truly love her back then. I even listened to my old CDs trying to bring back the feelings. You can say that I have did a lot of stuffs just to get those feelings back. However it won’t work much as I have expected but nonetheless I’m glad that I was able to finish this piece of story. Eventhough this Christmas I will be alone without a lover but I hope to share this story with everyone to make this year’s Christmas more meaningful to me. Alright, see you all next year and Merry Christmas!
