When I
was small, around age eight, I was separated from my father after divorced with
my mom. None of the things of his were left except for the watch he gave me. It
was the one and only thing to make me remember Dad.
Valentine’s
Rain
Today
was 14th February and I bet everyone knows what day is it! ^^ Many
girls had took this day’s opportunity to propose to boys or boys to girls by
giving valentine’s chocolate to them, bring them to a romantic dinner and
others else. Like every other girls do, I too made a chocolate to the boy in my
class: Koichi Takemura. Koichi is one of the members of the football team.
Being a bright and active boy, he is admired by many girls. Yea, that’s the
good thing about him but the thing I hate about him is that he’s always
disturbing me. I don’t even know how I started liking him.
It was
recess time and it was time to take out the homemade chocolate and propose to
Kocihi! I wondered if my handmade chocolate was good. But as I was going to
take it out I found a pink color watch instead of my dad’s old watch. I started
to get worry and looked around to find my dad’s watch but what’s with the pink
watch?
‘Hey Akura, got my present yet?’
It was
Koichi. He was standing beside my table and I didn’t even notice that he was
standing next to the table.
‘Your present?’ I asked.
‘Yea, the pink watch,’ he told me.
‘What?
Before you put it into my drawer did you see my watch?’ I asked in a very
worried voice.
‘Huh?
You mean the old crappy watch? I saw you always wearing that old watch so I
threw it away and bought a new one for you, Happy Valentine’s Day!’ he beamed a
smile at me. Without any delays I quickly rushed to the rubbish bin and search
for the watch.
‘What
are you searching for?’ he asked. I didn’t find the watch so I turned my head
around and asked him back, ‘my watch! Where did you throw it?’
‘Uh…
well… I… uh…I was standing next to the window while I was holding the watch but
uh… Kentaro was trying to take the watch from me by force cause I didn’t want
to let him see and then…’ he explained.
‘And then?’
‘And
then… uh… how should I say this? It flied off the window.’
‘It
fell from the window?’ I asked him and he just nod. Oh god! Why is this
happening to me? Just as I was going to find the watch… B-RING!!!!! B-RING!!!!!
The bell rang and it was time for lessons. I was rushing out of the classroom
but got caught by the teacher.
‘Where are you going?’ the teacher asked.
‘To find my watch!’ I told her.
‘Well,
you can find your watch after school’s over. Now get back to your seat.’
‘But-‘
‘GO TO
YOUR SEAT, NOW!’ she scolded at me. I have no choice but just go back to my
seat and wait till schools over.

School’s
finally over and I quickly pack up my things and went in search of my dad’s
watch. I search and search and search and I found nothing. The time was already
sun set and I’m still looking for my dad’s watch when I gave up. Koichi
suddenly came up to me and said, ‘why are you so bother about the watch? Just
forget the thing and let’s go home.’
His
words made me so fierce that I scolded him, ‘WHAT DO YOU KNOW ABOUT IT? IT WAS
THE ONE AND ONLY THING FOR ME TO REMEMBER DAD!’ After saying all those, I cried
and I run back home. Koichi was left behind with a regretted face. And after that, it started to rain.

It was
now late night hours 9 p.m. I was lying on my bed, crying until the doorbell
rang.
‘Akura! Can you go and open the door?’
‘Yes
Mom!’ I wiped off my tears and went to open the door and I saw Koichi was soaking
wet in rain, still wearing his school uniform.
‘What
do you want?’ I said to him, still being mad. Without saying anything, he took
out the very same watch my dad had and gave it to me.
‘Your
dad’s watch,’ he said to me. ‘It took me 4 hours to find in the rain and I’m
sorry, Akura,’ he said it with a regretted voice. I was still standing there,
looking surprisingly at him.
‘I’m
very sorry,’ he continued. I thought I could make you happy and be my valentine
but who knows I gave so much trouble to you. Everyday I tease you because it
was the only way for me to talk to you so I…’
I was
touched by his words. It like my tears going to flow out but it did. ‘Oh yeah,
my handmade chocolates! I forgot to give it to you in school!’
‘You
were going to give it you me? (I nodded) It’s okay ‘cause I got you.’ The next
minute, he hugged me tightly, arms around me and kissed me. I was going to push
him away, since he was soaked in wet but in return I too hugged him and enjoy
the kiss. My mom came to the door; saw Koichi and me were kissing. She didn’t
make any sound and just left us alone.

Hi
everyone! This is Ryou Takehito! In case you’re wondering why I’ve decided to
change my name is because I think it’s better to have a proper nickname. I’ve
decided to use this cute love story as my debut mainly because it reminds me
how silly/hardworking I am at thinking and writing stories at that time and
hope it’ll boost my writing spirit again (though my crazy and insane
imaginations still goes on in my life). There are some minor edits on the story
to correct grammar/vocabulary. Anyways nice to meet you all again and I hope
I’ll have a good time writing stories again so you can have a great time
